๐ด๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ถ๐ฝ Take a Generational Tour of Health & Culture
Hello Viewer,
When I was young, I would see older individuals hunched over, on respirators, struggling to make it across the crosswalk. I always wondered: how does such poor health carry over into oneโs later years? On the other end, when my collegiate basketball career came to an end, I watched teammates and friends let themselves go. In both situations, I vowed to prioritize my health and never become my own case study.
In edition #107, take a Generational Tour of Health.

Highest rates of obesity & diabetes in U.S. history.
Cancer and cardiovascular disease leading causes of death.
Only ~40% meet physical activity guidelines.

Sedentary lifestyle + screen time fueling obesity (35%).

Wellness Tip: Digital detox + strength training = longer, healthier middle age.
๐ Gen Z (1997โ2012)
Now aged: 12โ28
Health Stats:
Highest reported rates of depression & anxiety ever recorded.
Sleep deprivation + social media overuse.
Lower smoking rates, but higher vaping.
COVID Impact: School closures, biggest mental health toll.
Trends/Fads: TikTok fitness, plant-based eating, mental health advocacy.
Wellness Tip: Protect circadian rhythm, limit screen time, prioritize real-world relationships.
๐ค Gen Alpha (2013โmid-2020s)
Now aged: 0โ12
Health Stats (early data):
Rising childhood obesity.
Increased screen exposure (4โ6 hours/day average).
Higher rates of asthma and allergies linked to environment.
COVID Impact: Formative years disrupted (school, socialization).
Trends/Fads: Tablet learning, early tech use, sustainability awareness.
Wellness Tip: Outdoor play + parental modeling of habits = foundation for resilience.

๐ฑ Why Care?
Health isnโt just personal โ itโs generational.
Boomers struggled with obesity โ Gen X inherited higher metabolic risks.
Millennials built the screen culture โ Gen Z took the mental health hit.
Alpha is next in line โ and watching what we do.
Every generation leaves footprints. The question is: what will ours leave?
"Hard times create strong people, strong people create good times, good times create weak people, and weak people create hard times.โ
