💧 The Hidden Chemistry of “Clean” Water

Modern water treatment adds fluoride, chlorine, and sometimes even recycled pharmaceutical residues. Fluoride was introduced in the 1940s as a public dental health solution—but what’s added today is often an industrial byproduct, not the naturally occurring mineral found in spring sources.

Daily exposure to fluoride—via water, toothpaste, processed foods, and even tea—adds up. Studies show links to:

We often focus on hydration volume—but quality is just as critical.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems are excellent at removing fluoride, heavy metals, and microplastics. But they also strip water of minerals that fuel your metabolism, hydration balance, and muscle function.

  • Hydration water matters — filtered water (RO or distilled + electrolytes) is preferred.

  • Consider fluoride-free toothpaste + monitor total exposure.

  • Watch for joint pain, slow recovery, or fatigue that may not be training-related.

How:

  • ☑️ Use a home fluoride test kit (available online or at hardware stores)

  • ☑️ Or check your municipal water quality report (search your city + “water report”)

Why: Knowing what’s in your water gives you clarity on your next step.

🔁 2. Switch to Fluoride-Free Toothpaste

How:

  • ☑️ Try natural brands like David’s, Tom’s (fluoride-free version), or Boka

  • ☑️ You can find them in most health food stores or online

Why: You absorb fluoride through your mouth daily — removing it is a simple, effective swap.

🚰 3. Upgrade One Part of Your Water Setup
How:

  • ☑️ Start with a pitcher like ZeroWater (affordable + effective)

  • ☑️ Or install a simple under-sink filter

  • ☑️ Add trace minerals or a pinch of sea salt if using RO water

Why: Better water = better energy, focus, and recovery.
